Cellphone relay towers seem to be everywhere now and a common location is near schools! In November 2004, a report by the BBC, also detailed in The Mail on Sunday, revealed how Britain had 40,000 mobile-phone masts and one in ten schools had a mast located within 200 metres of the classrooms. Cell phone radiation is non-ionizing, unlike gamma, x-ray, and neutron radiation. It is ionizing radiation that creates ions within the cell nucleus that in turn damage the DNA and then could possibly cause cancer. Cell phone users today amount to almost 1.85 billion people. The report also states that since the year 2000 the number of cell phone subscribers doubled.
Radiation from microwave towers has also been associated with forest die-off, reproductive failure and population decline in many species of birds, and ill health and birth deformities in farm animals. The literature showing biological effects of microwave radiation is truly enormous, running to tens of thousands of documents, and I am amazed that industry spokespersons are getting away with saying that wireless technology has been proved safe or — just as ridiculous — that there is no evidence of harm. Radiation exposure from a wi-fi system comes from the router and each of the computers. A cordless DECT phone emits radiation from the base stations and the handsets.
Research out today from Datamonitor shows that while 100% of workers surveyed in thirteen countries used email, not all of us are sure . Research is showing that emissions from mobiles and masts are as carcinogenic as cigarettes. Mobile phones will be proven in years to come to cause electrical sensitivity, cancer, nervous disorders, damaged immune systems, senile dementia and tinnitus in humans as well as damaging the ‘birds and the bees’. Researchers now are looking at if the hands free sets don?t cause other problems. A report from the magazine ?which??
Scientists have found new evidence of a link between overhead power lines and childhood leukaemia. They have identified a defective gene that quadruples the risk of cancers of the blood and bone marrow for carriers who live within 330ft of an overhead cable. Scientists’ conclusions are pessimistic: “It is possible that mobile phones likely influence human brain, because its structure is similar to the rats’ brain. And if our assumptions will be confirmed, the youth of today who are very intensively using cellular phones, will face the Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases at the age of the Christ”.
